A little about California
California is home to a lot of things. It has Yosemite's granite cliffs and giant sequoias, some of the oldest living trees on Earth. It has Highway 1, a coastal drive that hugs cliffside after cliffside from Big Sur down to Los Angeles. It has Napa and Sonoma's vineyards, producing wine that regularly beats out its French counterparts in blind tastings. It also has Death Valley, the hottest, driest place in North America, sitting a few hours from snow-capped mountains in the same state. And it has San Francisco's fog rolling over the Golden Gate Bridge most mornings, followed by Los Angeles' near-permanent sunshine a few hours south.
