Abu Dhabi, the capital, holds the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Louvre Abu Dhabi, tucked under a dome that filters sunlight like a desert canopy. Dubai has the world's tallest building and man-made islands shaped like a palm tree, visible from space. Sharjah leans into culture, packed with more museums than anywhere else in the Gulf, while Ajman and Umm Al Quwain stay quiet, known for peaceful beaches and untouched mangroves. Ras Al Khaimah is the adventure emirate, home to mountain treks and the world's longest zipline, and Fujairah rounds it out as the only emirate on the Gulf of Oman, its coastline still largely undiscovered.
