Discover New Zealand (Self Drive)

New Zealand's North Island unfolds across seven days on this self-drive journey, beginning in Auckland's twin-harbor cityscape before heading south to Waitomo, where an underground world of glowworm-lit caves awaits. The journey continues to Matamata, home to the real Hobbiton Movie Set, before arriving in geothermal Rotorua, a bubbling and steaming landscape of mud pools, geysers and Maori culture. From Rotorua, the journey crosses volcanic plains and passes Great Lake Taupo on the way to Napier, a seaside city rebuilt entirely in Art Deco style following the 1931 earthquake, giving it a unique time-capsule character. The final leg travels south towards Wellington, either via the Manawatu Gorge or the Wairarapa wine country. Wellington is a compact harbour capital known for its arts, culture and New Zealand's national museum. With your own rental vehicle for the full six nights, the pace of the journey is yours to set. The itinerary can also be paired with a South Island tour for a more complete New Zealand experience.

    With sheltered, sparkling blue waters dotted with beautiful emerald islands, Auckland offers a wonderful introduction to New Zealand. The itinerary recommends getting out on the water during your stay.

  • 75% of total tour cost payable 60 days prior to departure

  • 100% of total tour cost payable 45 days prior to departure

Airfare Payment

  • 100% of airfare must be paid at the time of booking

  • Airfare is quoted at proposal stage and is subject to change at actual ticketing

  • If air tickets are part of the package, they are billed separately from the land component

  • Specific cancellation terms for airfare will be shared at the time of ticket issuance
