Splendid South is a guided coach journey through the vast and scenic landscape of New Zealand's South Island, built around its captivating blue lakes, snow-capped mountains and starry night skies. The tour opens in Christchurch, the Garden City, before crossing the Canterbury plains and alpine passes to the famous blue waters of Lake Tekapo and the Church of the Good Shepherd, continuing on to the icy landscape surrounding Aoraki Mt Cook. From there, the route follows the vivid waters of Lake Pukaki through Cromwell's wine country and the Kawarau Gorge to Queenstown, the Adventure Capital of the World, where three nights allow time for a full-day cruise into Milford Sound, a fjord carved by ice-age glaciers and famously called the eighth wonder of the world, along with a free day for optional adventure activities.
